Tropical Smoothie Charity Pickleball Tournament!

Tropical Smoothie Cafe presents A Charity Pickleball tournament benefitting Camp Sunshine on May 17th through the 19th. This tournament will be held at Jimmy Moore Park, with a special clinic with the Pros being held on the 17th from 4-6 PM.

Congratulations to the team of 4th Grades from R.L. Stevenson Elementary School!

This awesome team of 4th graders from R.L. Stevenson Elementary School are the 2019 Florida State Champions and will be representing the school, and state of Florida, at the Odyssey of the Mind Finals Competition in Michigan. Money raised will go toward their team and family costs for travel and accommodations. In March this incredible team placed 1st at the Space Coast regional Odyssey of the Mind competition achieving a perfect score. On April 6th they competed against the top teams from the state of Florida and once again placed 1st place earning them a spot at the World Finals competition to be held at Michigan State University at the end of May. At World Competition they will compete against the winning teams from forty eight states, as well as many countries from around the world. World teams also include winners from China, India, Poland, Russia, Canada, Mexico and many others. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for these awesome kids!

Brevard Cultural Alliance’s Cultural Summit Luncheon with Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran!!

Are you a fan of Duran Duran? Lead Singer Simon Le Bon will be in Melbourne on Thursday, May 23rd at the Brevard Cultural Alliance’s Cultural Summit Luncheon. Le Bon will reflect on the past, present, and future of Duran Duran, and of the music industry as he is interviewd live by Spectrum News 13’s Greg Pallone. The Summit will also feature workshops tailored to arts and cultural organizations, artists of all genres and arts-related businesses. All-day tickets and luncheon-only tickets are available for purchase. American Legion Post 163’s Golf Tournament Fundraiser!

The American Legion J.W. Mathers Junior Post 163 Golf Tournament Fundraiser will take place on June 1st, beginning at 7:30AM.

This golf tournament fundraiser reguires registration- which is open until May 15th- will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30AM at  Mallards Landing Golf Course- 2750 Lake Washington Rd. Melbourne, Florida, 32935. For just $60.00 per person, your entry fee includes:

  • Food and Drink at the Turn
  • Award Ceremony at the American Legion Post 163
  • Roast Beef Dinner with Potatoes, Vegtables, and Salad Bar

Playwrights Workshop of Brevard presents “Family Affairs”!

The Playwrights Workshop of Brevard will present Family Affairs, a program of three orignial plays by local writers beginning on Friday, May 24th at the Surfside Playhouse!! The Surfside Playhouse is located at 301 Ramp Road in Cocoa Beach.

Cosmic Trilogy by the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra!

The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will close its 10th Anniversary season with the multi-media, Cosmic Triolgy at 7:00PM on Saturday, May 25th at the Scott Center for the Performing Arts at Holy Trinity Eposocpal Academy, located at 5625 Holy Trinity Drive in Suntree.

The SCSO will present Christopher Marshall’s The Cosmos, a series of musings on origins of the universe as we know and as we imagine it, and on humankind’s place within it.  The SCSO will perform selections from their Cosmic Film Trilogy featuring breathtaking images of far distant galaxies, nebulae and other astronomical wonders captured by cutting edge instruments on earth and in the heavens.  Selections will include Holst’s epic The Planets, Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra, and Dvorak’s popular New World Symphony. Spanning seven years, don’t miss this epic and thrilling conclusion!

College Students Save BIG at the Brevard Zoo & Treetop Trek!

This summer, college students are invited to make the most of their time off by saving big at Treetop Trek. The Brevard Antiques & Collectibles club’s Monthly Meeting!

The Brevard Antiques & Collectibles Club will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 21st at 1:30PM at the Melbourne Beach Library, 324 Ocean Avenue.

This month’s subject will be “Anything Goes” – they ask that you bring one item for study and discussion.
